The GFD Dual-Fuel System Options
Mechanical System: Boost Activated
The basic system for injecting gaseous-fuels into a diesel engine utilizes an engine boost activated valve that is linear in operation, delivering increased gas as power demand increases. The boost pressure produced by a turbo-charger attached to the diesel engine opens a variable flow path through the valve. The valve is adjustable to allow a user to establish the engine load level necessary to initially and/or fully open the valve.
Electronic System: Boost Activated The system is an electronically actuated valve system that operates in relation to the engines work load and is utilized to establish a gaseous-fuel flow volume based on the following engine parameters: engine speed, exhaust gas temperature, boost pressure and oxygen content in the exhaust gas to maintain the best emission results and optimum dual-fuel mixture under varying engine speeds and loads.
